Sun, Wind, 750 miles later; Red River,New Mexico

The beginning of my BBC Journey began with a great breakfast, as all journeys should. Then it was a battle of will between 50mph headwinds and my Fusion flying down the road at 79. My Fusion and I won but I paid the price, literally with the worst mileage in the life of my Hybrid – 26mpg.  Of course once I hit the sunshine and calm winds of Central Kansas, it popped back up above 34.

Now I sit in my condo in Red River, listening to the water as it flashes by the resort and breathing in the thin mountain air. We are above 8500 feet here so the head is a little light right now!

Tomorrow, my camera will begin its daily workout and I will spend quality time in Santa Fe, exploring galleries, restaurants and the old historic district. I will begin posting a photo gallery tomorrow so stay tuned.
